BBC is a British company that produces films, tv shows, news, broadcasts, podcasts, radio and more. They inspire to make productions concerning British culture and people. Such as the great British bake off, Eastenders, and British music artists more than any other artists. The logo is simple and recognizable anywhere. This is not a company I would personally use as I would like to have more of a range. One of the reasons is that also, they are very formal with their choosing, the don't usually like swear words, too much blood or anything that would give the British a bad reputation, you can see this in many other productions, such as Doctor Who, the news, and the radio. It's not as good of a company as its very limited to one thing which is the British culture.
It was founded in November 14, 1922 in Central London.
Lionsgate is known for blockbusters, or really high grossing films such as Now you see me, The Hunger Games, Saw and many more. The logo is recognizable everywhere not only for the logo itself but also the sound. It's mostly an american production but has a variety of genres and films. It's values are mostly to make sure they have well known actors so the movies have a higher percentage of being successful. Unlike the BBC, Lionsgate has a variety, this is because it ranges from Saw which is disturbing and intense to romantic movies such as Love, Rosie which is a British film, therefore they have more diversity and are more likely to be more accepting of different films. It's a good company as its not as limited to one specific area or genre.
Netflix doesn't limit itself, mostly because their values are are so diverse. The reason why is because its a platform that has almost no boundaries and this is why its more likely to have movies made from small directors but it also has blockbusters and everything in between. What they produce ranges from something rated R like Orange is the new black or they have children's animated movies rated PG such as The little prince or documentaries such as the making of a murderer. The reason why Netflix is so successful is because its mostly online, this makes it more independent and free to what they want to make for their audience rather than worrying about higher grossing films. The logo is also simple and recognizable anywhere along with the sound.
The fact that you can access it anywhere, anytime makes it the best one because more people would more likely to watch it. Which is why this would probably be the best one out of the three.

My second idea would be to have a name but also a logo. I thought I would add an animal such a fox. This is because its an animal that I've always liked and it would also be aesthetically pleasing to look at. I thought I would make the animal shape but make it so it's an aztec design in black and then have a red or orange glow on top of it.
My first idea is to make the logo HDPM because its my initials and it makes sense, also it doesn't sound bad out loud and I'm sure with the correct font and 3D animation it could be made into a very distinct logo. With a sound to add to the logo so its recognizable.
After asking people what they thought of my ideas, this is what they picked and why:
"I like the first idea with the initials, because of the animation, I would do that." -Danyelle
"I like the Fox one because its very detailed and the colour orange makes it really eye catching." -Sharn
"The Fox because it looks really good and aesthetically pleasing." -Patricia
"I like the antlers because I think it looks interesting and I know you like deers" -Shanice
"The fox because it's really original" -Ella
"I like the deer one because its very different" -Cairon
"The fox one because it looks the best" -Can

Making the logo
For my first idea I decided to go with my initials in 3D going diagonally down from H, then the letter would turn from purple to blue also moving upwards so they are all even in landscape and then 'productions' fades in at the bottom. As the letters move I've decided to have a sound.
The third idea is to make deer antlers because its also an animal I like and is aesthetically pleasing. I also decided to make it brown because the antlers are brown therefore it would look nice.
My second idea is to make a fox made out of aztec style with orange outlines, it then constructs itself into a whole fox head which is orange, then 'RedFox Productions' appears at the bottom. 'RedFox' will be a different font than 'Productions'. Along with a sound as it constructs.
My third idea is to have the antlers with 'Fawn Studios' at the bottom, but then I changed my mind and decided to add an animation to it so it turns from brown and flickers to blue and turns back around to brown again. Also adding sound in between the flickers from brown to blue to brown.
British
Broadcasting
Corporation
British, they only seem to focus on British culture and people.
Broadcasting, they do all sorts of broadcasts, from tv shows, movies, radios
Corporation, they are a huge corporation
They are put into different boxes as they are all separate words, the colours are usually simplistic. The BBC usually ranges from black and white to red and white or also purple and white. This is because of the amount of different broadcasts they do. Red usually represents the news as its a form of emergency and capture's the viewer's attention as its something that they should know, but it could also symbolize power because they get the viewer's attention and its very controlling. The white represents clean and peaceful which is what they aim for so everything is peaceful when people look at it, the black also seems to represent power and authority, but also sophistication and professionalism. Whereas the purple represents education or celebration. All of the colours correspond to the logo, and the type of broadcast the BBC makes. The font and colours are very simple as its so well known, its recognizable anywhere and therefore doesn't need any attention in their logo. They also want to look simple and professional as they have a lot of different types of broadcasts therefore the logo reaches all ages. The fact that the it is a British Corporation, makes it more limited as it only focuses on British culture and not anything else, although they do have worldwide BBC its mostly targeted towards the UK.

The font is simple and in 3D to give it an effect and so its eye catching. Its slightly curved so that the sides are far back and the center is pushed to the front to give emphasis to the logo. The colour is a dark shade of blue but also has lighter and darker shades because of the 3D affect, this makes it more realistic and professional. The colour blue represents professionalism, trust, authority and power which is what they aim for because its such a known company.
The Lionsgate logo is also known for having an animation to go with it which starts with gears turning and it zooms out to a lock on a gate that opens up and then there is the logo and the name of the company. Firstly the gears mean the lock and the viewer is the key, because the audience is opening the gates to watch the film made by lionsgate. That is how the name and the logo correspond. The gear could also mean the crew and the production team of the movie that works to make the film the audience is about to watch.
Lion represents how powerful the company is because lions are the kings of the animal kingdom therefore they are the most
Gate represents the gate of movies that are in the company and what they made.

The Great British Bake Off - It's a British tv show about baking. It has a very famous baker, Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood which are iconic British figures. They maintain the British patriarchy with the name in the title. They maintain the cousine in the British culture. This is seen as a British thing because the UK is known for making homemade bakery whereas other countries buy them from stores.
Doctor Who - Is a worldwide loved TV show made in the UK. It is one of the most popular TV shows ever made as it's constantly ongoing. It is shown on BBC because its so popular but also BBC made it. Being proud of what they made its constantly shown on the BBC media and channels. It contains purely and only British characters and British human and culture. It can be scattered around many other time periods making it more diverse but its still British culture.
BBC Radio 1 - Is a Radio show with host Nick Grimshaw which is a well known British personality. This is shown on BBC media because the celebrities that he usually interviews are British or really famous, they are usually British and therefore would more likely be on the show more often. He often has British youtube personalities to keep the patriotic values and to keep the audience engaged as they are also keeping up with the times.

'Net' stands for Internet as in its available online at any time
'Flix' stands for Flicks as it was what people used to call movies back when it was first invented.
Netflix has been around since 1997 and have updated their logo only once. They also changed the icon to red with a black background. The red represents Passion, Love, and Excitement. They all represents emotions from the audience as there are a variety of shows and movies to choose from and what they give off. Not only that but its also a colour that gives off attention, therefore the audience will be more invested in. The colour red also seems to give off a sense of addiction as the audience often binge (watch more than 2 episodes in one sitting). The white represents Pure, Peaceful, and Clean. This could represent how the website is easy to work with and everything they make is good and pure. Black represents Authority, Power, and Sophistication. This could imply that they are professionals and usually what they make is well done and clean, it could also mean that they are a powerful organisation as they can get any actor as they are have authority and everyone knows they are a powerful organization and they have been adding more black to their logo each time they update it to show how more professional and powerful they are getting. Their logo is often described as bad, but no one minds that it isn't good as they are really powerful and well known and they would get away with it as no one would stop using it just because the logo is bad, because its well known and well loved as a platform. They make their own tv shows and movies.

The Hunger Games - Is a movie adaptation of a well known best seller trilogy. Lionsgate is known for making blockbusters and having a high budget, with this they were able to include very well known actors so the movie would sell more but they also knew the book was popular, and just like Harry Potter they knew it would be sell as there were fans already even before the movie was out. Not only did they get famous actors but also directors.
Saw - Is a well known horror movie that is more in the slasher movies side, its not only 1 movie but in fact it carries through to 8 movies. The first one was oddly popular therefore Lionsgate kept making them as they had a lot of fans to carry on watching. It doesn't have many well known actors but as they all die there wouldn't be a point. The fact that there is so much to the story is maybe why they kept on making more movies.
Kick-ass - Is close to being a blockbuster as there are many very well known actors from comedies and action movies. It had a better budget on the second movie but it was still successful for them to make a second movie. As it is a comedic turn of typical superhero movies, with known actors and director, Lionsgate did go for it.

Stranger Things - Is a Netflix original that was released in 2016 and has gotten one of the Netflix's most highest ratings with 95% on rotten tomatoes an 9/10 on IMDb. It also blew up on the internet and everyone was talking about it and watching it. It has loving characters and known actress Winona Ryder as one of the main characters really added to the fact that this tv show became extremely popular. It also has a strong 80's Spielberg nostalgia as its set in the 80's. It also has elements of Stephen King.
Orange is the new black - Is also a very popular show on Netflix, it started off with one season which wasn't recognized but when the second season came out it blew up and many people watched it, each year, a new season comes out and it's spoken about in the media with a rating of 96% on rotten tomatoes and 8.3/10 on IMDb. The tv show has some known actors. Apart from that it has very lovable characters and a very engaging storyline that always leaves the audience wanting more.
Jessica Jones - As Netflix collaborated with Marvel to make this tv show, they would know it would be a success. It has gotten a 93% on rotten tomatoes and an 8.2 on IMDb. The show has very known actors, one being an actor who also played doctor who. The main character is also well known for making other tv shows. As this is for the Marvel universe, Netflix knew they would get many fans and as they are a powerful corporation they would get a lot of ratings and people watching the tv show aswell as others.
These 3 examples differ from each other. The Great British bake off is a form of reality competition show whereas Doctor Who is a Sci-fi fictional tv show, and BBC Radio isn't even a tv show but instead its all about music and is mostly vocal rather than needing cameras. They are all ideal to BBC because they all follow the mission and values but also they are ideal as they follow the British culture, if its fighting off fictional monsters, of baking a 3 layered cake or listening to the top charts, they all seem to involve British culture, comedy or cousine. This links to their mission which is to enrich people's lives by informing, educating or entertaining which is what they do as they have many different channel and types of corporations. This is accomplished by the ratings and talk it gets on the media, such as how quickly or how quick it catches up in social media
These 3 movies differ very much from each other. The first movie is about a post - apocalyptic dystopian future where the government tries to keep the population down by killing teens. Whereas Saw is a horror movie where a psychopath makes a game out of imprisoning people and watching them cut off their limbs or die. Whereas Kick-ass is a comedy movie about a boy who is a bad at being a superhero. They all differ in genres as one is Adventure/Action, the other is Horror and then there's the Comedy\Action. They are all suitable for Lionsgate as they are all high budget, with known actors and sequels. It all links to their mission as its to provide home entertainment and by the ratings they have accomplished that.
The first tv show is Stranger things, which is a Sci-fi 80's story about a boy who gets captured by a monster and the government is behind all of it but his friends go on an adventure to help find him. It's a medium/ high budget program with well known actors. Whereas Orange is the new black is a dark Comedy/ Drama where it shows a life of a female prison. Whereas Jessica Jones is a Action/ Investigation tv show where an ex-superhero is trying to stop her worst enemy. These all differ as they are all extremely different genres but also stories and styles of tv shows. Netflix made them because they saw how different they all are, and because they are different and have some quite known actors it was easy for them to put it through. Also it links with their mission is to be creative and improve costumer experience which by the ratings of the movies and tv shows they get, they are doing just that.
Mission statement for my own production company:
We aim to make the best we can and be as diverse as we can. Our core purpose is to entertain people.

At first I needed an outline for my idea, it wasn't hard to find on google. After that I drew the lines to make the outside shape of the fox. I then went over it with a thicker orange line to make it seem very indie and as if it was drawn but not outside the lines that it looks bad. After I drew inside the outline and drew more lines so that it looks like my first design. I went over them again. After that I decided it would be best to draw an outer black line over the original shape of the fox's head. This is because when the triangles fill in it would have a final outline in the head. I also decided to add 2 small black eyes to give the fox more life. This is also because the fox represents the viewer that is watching and it needs eyes to watch. After I filled in all the shapes and saved every time I coloured in each triangle, I decided I could also want to add a nose, as it adds more to the drawing and looks more like a fox but also keeps in simplistic. I also thought about making my own font for the name but keeping 'Productions' as a normal font. This adds personality to the logo and creativity.
I made 'Productions' smaller than the company name as its less important, but its still important enough to be there. It took me a while to adjust it to the right size because I didn't want it to be too big so it overpowers everything but I wanted it to be visible. I then decided on the font for 'RedFox' but after a while I wanted to write it down instead so it would fit to the 'indie' aspect and so it would match the design of the fox and logo.

Logo animation
For my logo animation I started off by adding all the images one after the other and cropping them so that they would run smoothly after one another. After that I realized that the last picture did not look right as its a png therefore the black doesn't show on a black background, so I decided to edit the last image so that the nose would be brown instead of black and the text would be white instead of black. This made it look much better in contrast with the black background and also you could see much better. After that, I added that in with the rest and made sure they ran as smooth and as swiftly as possible. The 'RedFox' font is also different as I thought it would be better and more professional to pick a font.

The final product
I'm pretty pleased with my finished product. I made sure to make all of the pictures run smoothly together with no gaps, I also wanted to make it short and simple but also have an original twist to it. I also wanted to make it so that its convenient for when I add it next to anything I make again. I also like it because its eye catching. As this was my original design I'm glad it had the most picks for my primary research. It has also been my favourite design from the start and all my research has led up to my final product and also how I didn't change my original idea too much. I made sure to stick to the same design and name. Although the font colour turned out differently, I think it all looks good and polished. The animation was also supposedly the same all throughout the beginning of the planning all the way to the end of the finished productI also liked that it runs smoothly without any black cuts or parts that are too long or too short, therefore its the perfect amount of time to play before a movie starts. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that you can't see the black outline. If there is a white background you can clearly see it. I'm really pleased that my audience and myself all like this logo as it will be the representation of my films. It is original and simple as it is effective and eye catching. It is also very short but it still has an full experiencing animation. The fox symbolises intelligence and wisdom which could mean that the movies I make are carefully thought through. Also it is an animal that I really like and therefore means something to me.
