Audience:
The explorer Movie: Forrest Gump ‘Forrest Gump Trailer’
The audience is usually more of middle aged mostly 30 to 40 year olds as they have had more life experience, they have explored their life like the character has, also because the historical events have happened from the 60s up to the current time which is about the 90s back when it was filmed. They might be mostly working class as they can relate to Forrest as he is also a working class citizen.
The movie is very much about the character exploring everything in his lifetime, he goes through various historical events and goes to different countries and around the US exploring. The film poster itself explains that he is travelling, the fact that he is sitting down on a bench means he is probably waiting for something, and if you’ve watched the movie you would know that he is in fact waiting for a bus. In the bottom left corner you can see he has a suitcase, another evidence for why he is sitting on the bench, and also shows that he is going travelling, which shows that he is in fact an explorer kind of person. The audience who watches this, might watch because they understand and like the idea of exploring their surroundings and they can connect with the character. These kinds of people, both in the movie and the audience seek exploring not only of the nature and cultures around them but also in themselves, the movie is fiction which in that case the only way to make it a movie and not a documentary is to make it dramatic and a movie based on life. The audience see this and understand and sympathise with the characters. The actor is Tom Hanks, he is known in the world of cinema, to catch audiences because he is a very sympathetic looking actor therefore in movies the viewers like to see the character have emotions and by doing that, the audience is attached, so they sell more. The background is very simple, it’s plain white which with what i gathered that could mean that you can’t just have one background as he is an explorer, he’s been to way too many places to put a certain background as he is constantly moving around. The colour of the title name is blue. The color blue usually indicated peacefulness and serenity, others may say it’s a colour that describes sadness. In this case it would be both. The reason it's blue is because when you’re an explorer, you have many emotions but the main ones can be seen as sadness, as you are far away from home, or calmness which means that wherever they go, these types of people adapt and they are always calm which is what Forrest Gump is in this movie. The main colour grading of this movie is not so harsh, it’s as if there were go colour grading at all, it's very normal to show that the surroundings are peaceful and that the movie is not going to be too harsh but in fact just about his life. The music varies from very happy to very sad, as it’s a very eventful movie, there is a lot of emotions and changes, the music goes from happy to sad to dramatic and cycles through those 3
emotions. In the movie poster, the actor portraying the character Forrest gump is looking to his left while sitting down on a bench, again it could be about him waiting for the bus, but it could also be the character looking back at his life.
Audience:
The mainstreamer Movie: Unfriended 'Unfriended movie trailer'
The audience for this movie is mostly 13 to 19 year old teens. Mostly teens that are working class and of the western world as they can relate to the characters as they have technology such as they have in the movie. Another reason it's for this type of audience is because they are mainstreamers, as the genre of the movie is horror, they want to make it seem as if this is not a positive thing, to be on technology too much and that they are trying to show how materialistic mainstreamers can be. The plot of the movie is fairly simple, but the interesting idea is that it is not filmed in any other way apart from using social media, such as youtube, facebook, skype and other apple products. This makes the viewers scared as it's a horror film because they have those things as they are similar to the characters. The movie poster shows a teenage girl, screaming, at first sight you may think it's a normal picture but if you look closely, you can tell it’s a screen, this can also be symbolic as she is trapped in the world of social media, and the evil thing is not in fact a ghost but social media itself. The 4 bottom pictures showing the other characters in the poster, are also screens, as if they are all in a skype call. The audience can understand this as they know what it means. The title is very bland and spread out across the screen so that you can see what it means, ‘unfriended’ is seen as a bad thing for a mainstreamer as their main goals is to have as many followers and friends as possible, most mainstreamers are 13 to 19 year olds. It’s also bland and white to show that that’s what the font is in social media websites and that this whole movie was made in using a computer screen as the camera and not actual shots of a normal movie. This is because they want to show the audience how dangerous using social media is. This type audience is often seen a snobby, superficial and care about what people think of them too much.

Script for voiceover
For many years London has been a good place for kids, as there are many things to do, such as cinemas, sweet shops, restaurants such as Nando's or pizza express, leisure centers, bowling, parks, museums and much more.
South London is a great place for your kids, it has many places for them to visit and enjoy, a great place for the whole family.

Editing
At first I didn't have enough footage to start editing, so I went out and filmed some more, after I got enough I started editing everything together, some of the footages need stabilizing and others just needed to be cropped down so it would look very tidy, after putting most of if all together I realize I need more footage, which I will film today.
I still decided to go ahead and make a title on After Effects as it was my next approach. I was struggling to give it a title until I finally cam up with a name 'How to have fun in London for kids' I think that was the best approach so I gave it a little colour, light baby blue, and added animation to it so it fits in with the whole idea of this project.
Still not having enough footage I decided to have it all together just so that when I have some new ones I can just add it in to the missing parts rather than starting from scratch.
The music and sound are going to be my next step, I need to get some background sounds, and background music, also another thing would be the voiceover as it is a advert/documentary type short.
I need make the background sounds so that people are talking and there are outside noises but not too overwhelming so that it's noisy or ruins the music or voiceover.
Day 3
On After Effects I decided the title was too dark and the animation wasn't good enough, so I went ahead and put a different, more bubbly and childish font and made each word a different colour. I also changed the animation so that it looks really appealing to children.
I also made it so that it starts as soon as the video starts, with the background as the fountains, this is because it makes light and lively, instead of dark and boring, which is what children don't want. I also made it fade into the next scene so it would look smooth. The fact that it starts with a fountain, makes children be interested because they like to play in parks and water.

Sound
For the sound I decided to record some ambience music to put in the background to fill the silence. I decided to record the voiceover so that it has a element of information and the video has a purpose.
Location report
I took some pictures of the location so that we would have an idea of what it would be like for us to film
Footage
More footage needs to be shot, such as parks, other restaurants and play areas.
If I could get permission from the mums, I would film more of children so that the short shows what the children like and it shows them happy which makes sense because its for them.

Primary research:
For primary search I've decided to interview my 2 younger sisters, they are in the age range of this project and I decided it would be a good idea to get information from them as they are my most reliable source, I could also interview their school friends if I can get the parent's permissions.

When looking over at the footage to edit, I realized that the lighting was too much so I white balanced it so that it would look better.

Sound:
After working on some sound, I have made sure everything had the exact volume, and that each clip has a background noise so it adds to the silence, I also recorded a voiceover with a friend, in which I recorded her voice of the script I wrote, so that it would match with all the footage.

Final product:
After finishing editing, and uploading it into youtube, I have realized it is best to add music behind the whole short, so that it adds the kid's element to it, also gives the audience more attention to it, wanting them to keep watching.
Another thing I decided to do, is to incorporate the idea that this is a child's audience and add some more child faces to the footage, adding one of my sisters so that I have parent permission and so that it makes it all tie up together.
